I just saw a very disturbing commercial. In order to promote their burgers Carls Jr felt it necessary to crash a very good looking maverick into a building. Now I don't know whether to applaud them for their taste in automobiles or boycott them forever (or at least until I get a hankering for an artery clogging lunch)

I cringe everytime I see an older car get wasted for the sake of the almighty dollar. :(

That sucks.:( We don't have any of those burger joints around here, thank goodness. If they HAD to crash a car into a building, they could have picked a better car to mess up. Like, a Yugo or something.

Never heard of them. I'd boycott them and write them a nastygram.

I think its just a CA thing. I knew a few people from there and they said they had good food and everything but here in St. Louis don't have em and when i lived in FL didn't have them there either. See if they have any parts left over and get em so at least some part of the mav lives!

LOL ... if you do a Google Search on "Carls Jr ad" you will see many petitions and people protesting their TV commercials. Maybe we should start a petition also since they destroyed a Maverick.

Check out the BULL commercial on their website

You guys are viewing it wrong. Just like in the bull commercial, they had to use a Maverick because of the resemblance. It's all about themes. Mechanical bull-Beef, Maverick-Beef. The Pinto just would'nt have cut it. (Just exploded) On a different note, It would have been better if they could have used the new foreign Maverick.

I Was Really Disturbed To See A Car Go Through A Window But I Must Say That I Was Kinda Thrilled That The Maverick Was Used. It Puts The Spot Light On Our Cars Now The Value Will Go Up Evenmore. Can Anyone Tell Me Where To Start On Restoring My Old Maverick. It Runs Really Well Now I Just Want It To Look Hot And Sexy Like A Racer.

Where you start is really a matter of what your plans are and what kind of condition the car is in. First and formost should be to get decent brakes on there. Find some disc for the front. If your car is a 4 lug, find a 76 or 77 parts car and swap out the disc and rear. Next would be the front end. Make sure all components are tight. After that its performance mods, body, paint and interior. Only limiting factor there is your imagination and bank account. If you could be more specific about the condition of the car along with what your ultimate plan is, it would be easier to give more detailed opinions. Also I would start a new thread whith your information so all responses will pertain directly to you. Well, usually they do.
