    I've been looking around at site and tuning up my original 250 In-line 6 could be a little pricey. Anyone have personal info on switching to a V8 in their Mav/Comet? What are the benefits or down falls? THX much!! :thumbs2:

    Going from a 250 to a 302 is not that bad. You can still use your tranny and radiator. You'll need the v8 frame stands, belly bar and tranny crossmember. The 6cyl throttle cable will work, but a v8 one is better if you can get one.

    benefits of a 302 in your car;
    sounds better
    runs better
    easier to get hot rod parts for
    fuel economy (for a stock to mild 302) same or better than your six
    downfalls of a 302 in your car;
    spark plug changes will be much more entertaining
    right rear tire won't last as long as it used to
    not much else:clap:

    Thanks, I appreciate the info. I've been looking at crate motors online, kinda pricey, but I'm gonna keep shopping for now.
