First I will like to thank you guys for all that information and experience that is pour in to these website. Not that long ago i bought a "classic" for the cool factor. 4 months have passed and man oh man, I am hooked, badly hooked. my car was a 73 stock mav, the engine and the trans were replaced with a 302 and a C4 from a 1978 granada with a custom cam, i do have power steering. I am on a budget. that being said, i am trying to install front disk brakes, can somebody guide me trough these process? I cant afford 5 to 6 hundred dollars on a kit, so the junk yard has become my favorite hang out. i never worked on a car before, needless to say all the mods i have done to the mav have come out straight out of here. i have become very familiarized with my car and have a mechanic that i pay by the day so he can watch me do the stuff and correct me. What i need to know is: from what car i can get spindle?, remember i dont have a lot of room to spare. If not able to get the 10" disc from a mav, is there a replacement? btw i live in Tijuana mx paradise of the junk yards, but not a single grabber hood in sight.
Get spindles from a Granada, or a late model Maverick or Comet. The rotors are 11-inch. Get everything; calipers, spindles, rotors, master cylinder, and front brake lines.
what about mustangs? the guy that is going to help me has o ton of part of 70's mustangs do you think i can use those?
