The retrofit cam shows double valve springs as being required to run their cam. I called compcams and they said that you must use those springs. Did anyone here install the double valve springs with their roller cam. What is involved in that?

I have Edelbrock RPM heads and never thought of checking that.

I have double springs. Not a big deal, they fit without any modification.

On the stock '72 heads, which rocker arm setup would be used? Mine are stock, as in non-adjustable, with the 5/16" studs (I think that is what they are). Would the heavier springs pull the studs out, or do they need to be pinned or machined for 3/8" studs?

I would call Comp Cams up and give the the specs of the cam you want. They will tell you the spring pressure you need to run and wether you need to upgrade. I'd upgrade to adjustable 3/8" screw in studs anyway if you got the bucks to do it.
