Guys, I would like to know if seats from an older celica (about '91) will fit in my 70 maverick. I just can't stand the plaid seats any longer. :) Thanx~

Well, I just took the front and back benchs out of my 70 2door, and I'm looking for some new buckets. I think there is another thread on these boards showing maxima seats in a mav.

Woohoo, as soon as I find some seats, and bleed my brakes, I'll be taking my mav out for her virgin spin (well I guess it will really be my virgin spin)

Hopefully I won't have to do more than drill two extra holes for each seat, and figure out some kind of braket/support for the new holes.

Good luck to both of us!

Jeep CJ seats will look very good but have to have some adaptive work done to mount them on your original rails. New from J.C.Whitney at 120 ea. in black leatherette or some other colors.

Arn't they pretty wide for the Mav? If so, you would have to bias them toward the center and the mounting would get offset.
I have a Lincoln LSC with those kind of seats and they are amoung the largest seats you can get. Good luck with them.

The console I made out of aluminum and machined the cup holder painted black with vinyl covered foam arm rest.

I used the stock tracks from the t-bird they are 6 way power I had to weld mounts on the outside track and shim the inside mount because the floors are not the same. Not hard and worth the effort.

    THE MAV.

Cool, thanks for the tip. hey, i just dug out the hot rod mag with your car in it and i had to tease my girlfriend! her name is also TAMMY LEE! and she said the same thing your wife said! about the car looking like a grandma car!(she changed her tune after she saw it painted!) i guess your wife changed her mind too because if my eyes serve me correctly it looks like she may be the one driving the car in the first pic! steve

    Hmmm

That console gave me an idea ... wonder if a center console out of a newer camaro (altered of course) would work ?? Hmmm
