Extended shackles AND air shocks are both a bad idea.

If the rear of your Maverick needs a "lift", do it RIGHT by replacing the leaf springs along with new bushings and hardware.

Air shocks are best suited for cars with full frame construction.
On Mavericks (which are uni-body), they have a tendency to rip the mounts right out of the body, which pretty much destroys it.

Extended shackles put too much tension on the spring eyelets and remove the "arch" of the spring. They also look incredibly stupid.

With that said, people are still gonna do what they're gonna do. Some will do anything to try & save a buck, but these things are not recomended...

I had a broken leaf spring on my '70 mav and found new ones from JC whitney. they had stock or HD springs which have an extra leaf for only like a dollar more so thats what I got. but I never recieved my shackles because they never got them in stock, they refunded the shackles but now I'm stuck with these god awfull after market brakets with multiple holes for hight ( I put on the lowest hole) and worn bushings.
