shaving shock towers

    One of when we did the trunk, few of getting interior black. Since motors out now, got front end gutted and working on towers. Wanted to rebuild the 250 inline but it was shot...

    Your the first to ask...sorry, I didn't save my pattern. But it's not hard, just measure n mark, lots of pics out there that people have done...

    Yep, it's easy. On mine I measured 1" inward from the inside shock absorber mounting bracket hole, straight down the front and rear of the shock tower and stopped 1-1/2" above the upper control arm mounting bolts. Could have probably got a little closer to the UCA but not much. Cut it out with an angle grinder and a cut-off wheel. Used a piece of cardboard to make a template and when I had that right just transferred to a 3/16" piece of steel.
