    I found that my '72 does not have the round area for a speaker behind the kick panel, but instead has a smaller rectangular cutout, while my '77 has the round holes and actually came with the speaker grilles like those shown above.
    Whenever the first FM stereo/8 track stereo radio was available in a Mav is probably when they changed the metal behind the kick panel...
