This post deleted by Kit. I had previously posted some unkind words about John Quirk and some others I met at Carlisle back in 2002.
I had forgotten about this post, but it was brought to my attention recently by John who happened upon it a few days ago . After re-reading what I wrote 4 years ago, I ashamed that I would have said any of that stuff in public.
John and everyone else I met at Carlisle were great people and quite hospitable.
So I offer this sincere public apology to John and everyone else at the 'Starsky Torino' forums for my rude comments.

    Torino

Hey all, as many of you have known, I swapped a 351W (and FMX Tranny) into my '76 Maverick. Well, the donor car was a '74 4-door Gran Torino. This is where it gets interesting...... my buddy and I decided to Ebay the rolling chassis of the Torino. We sold it for $900.00, to the gentleman that was in charge of the Torino's in the Starsky and Hutch movie! He was buying up every single thing that he could find for Torino's, because he was 1.) gathering parts for the sequel of the movie and 2.) going to build up a bunch of clones to sell, since they seem to be hot lately (and specifically around the times that the movies are hot). The guy's handle on Ebay is "moovmike"..... kinda cool that some part of our trash will maybe be in a movie, or painted up cool like the S&H Torino!!!

Update on my Maverick: I haven't even played with it, or worked on it in about 4 months, but Friday, I decided to start mocking up brackets to mount my new leather seats. They're 8-way seats, and are out of a '99 Volvo S80. The dimensions are VERY similar to the original Maverick buckets. These stinkin' seats have computers built into them, because they have "memory" functions so you can have 3 different "setups". I finally figured out the wiring, and have verified that the switches, motors, and wires are all good. I've just got to get them mounted. They are dark grey leather. No rips/tears at all. Got them for $50 off of Ebay, but paid $120 in freight to get them to me!

I'll post pictures when I get them mounted next week...

Yes....Movie Mike is selling "clones" of S&H cars. Pretty high price as well....like $35,000 each. He has a website somewhere.

Wow, I don't know which I'd rather have.... a $35,000 clone S&H Car, built by the guy that built the S&H Cars for the movie, or a Charvel that has been hand-stripped by Eddie Van Halen himself..... for a mere $20,000. Both are mighty steep, in my opinion.....
