This has probably been asked before, but does the '65-'70 Mustang steering box fit the Maverick / Comet?

I've never been a fan of the slave cylinder style power steering setups due to fitment issues with headers, dual exhaust, etc. I just saw in the November Mustang Monthly that Borgeson Universal offers a power steering box that has been modified to fit the '65-'70 Mustangs and was wondering if it would work.

Below is what their site says about the box:

    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Power Steering Conversion Box 1965–1970
Borgeson now offers an integral power steering conversion for your 1965-1970 Classic Mustang. The Borgeson conversion box is a remanufactured modern integral power steering gearbox. The Borgeson integral power steering gearbox provides true modern power steering feel, feedback and a sporty 16:1 ratio. Borgeson has remanufactured this box to bolt directly to the factory mounting location and to fit the stock pitman arm without any interference or modification of the shock tower. 1965–1967 Mustangs will require a replacement column shaft. 1968–1970 Mustangs will need the factory column collapsed 1-2” for clearance. Cars with factory power steering will require either a drag link adapter or a manual steering center link. Eliminate your leaky control valve and feel the road with a new integral power steering conversion from Borgeson.

Very interesting! I bet it could be made to work. Looks like it would cost upwards of a grand to add power steering but would be worth it on some cars. I vote for you to go ahead with this project and write a good tech article. :Handshake
    Got it ordered yet?

It's going to be a while before I can afford to drop that much cash, especially on something I have no idea if it'll fit easy or not. With my back in the shape it's in, keeping me from being able to do any fabrication at the moment, I just can't do it without having solid information as to if it'll bolt up.
