You wouldnt believe the difference there was when i rebuilt the front end in my galaxie ... With the exeption of poly bushings everything was stock ... Even went with the cheap gabriel shocks ... I went with 60's in the front and concidering that its a boat it handles fairly nice ...

I agree with the MII front end idea ... That is if youve got the money ... Expect to drop about $2500 for a kit and i couldnt even tell you what to expect for installation if you have someone else do it ... But its well worth it ... It opens up a lot of possibilities as far as dropping in a motor ... I cant tell you what to expect as far as handling ive still got about another year before i can even begin to think about driving ours ...

my .02 like todd said... big sway bars on front and rear. 50's or 60's in tires. kyb gas-adjust shocks and make the tires something kinda soft. like eagles or something. not gonna get much tread life but it'll handle! do all that first and if that doesn't good enough for you... well..... none of those nascar cars are slouches in the handling department...model your suspension after those. i have a 71 vw karmann ghia and did just that... the swaybars, kyb's and pirelli's and the only time it breaks loose in the rear is in thr rain. can't force it into a slide on dry pavement. oh yeah... make sure you have a posi rear.

I can lend you some support on your FWD Mav ... Dont ask WHY it shouldn't be done just ask WHY NOT ? ... I love stock cars don't get me wrong ... But to do custom work on a car is whats most fun about customizing cars .... We all customize our cars , Be it putting in a granada console to dropping in a 428 cammer on top of a MII front end ... ...

My first car was a 1970 Bug ... It had a Toronado FWD V8 slammed into the back ... It was chopped and had a Porshe "Wale Tail" spoiler ... It was prolly a nice car at one time but when i got it it was ragged out ....

I built a 61 Comino with TWO FWD Turbo Buick 3800's for the shriner parade.. My idea was to do a 4 wheel donut ... Didnt happen though the shriners decieded it was to "Dangorous for a parade" I ended up simply doing a front wheel foward and a rear wheel reverse burnout , was kinda lame but it was different none the less ...

My point is simple ... "If you build it they will come " .... Reluctently at first yeah but they will come none the less ...
