:tiphat: So I picked up my 1990 Mustang 302 roller cam block from the machine shop where it was stroked to 347 ci using 28ounce balancer/flywheel. (OEM 90 stang block was 50oz)

The 28oz flywheel is 1" smalled then the 50oz flywheel currently on the 1981 302 in my car. Flywheel tooth count is now 157 instead of 164.

What do I have to change? I know the starter must be different, but do you have to change the trans case ??

I have read a bunch of posts about this swap so someone must have already run into this.

    HELP !

    Thanks
    Sean

    Converter

So the flywheel converter bolts go from a 11 3/8" diameter down to a 10.5" diameter - this should work with B & M 50416 for a 2500 RPM stall with the C4. Looks like there is no converter for an AOD with the 10.5" 28 oz balancer.

If the trans case is the same, then the only other major difference should be the starter.

Anybody go thru this stuff already ?

You will need a bell housing for a 157 tooth set up. The starter will be fine.
AOD trans never had a 157 tooth set up to the best of my knowledge. You would be better off getting a 164 tooth plate that is balanced to 28 oz. They are common...

    flywheel

So I ordered a 164 tooth 28oz flywheel which uses the 11 1/2" or so converter bolt pattern. This should work for either the C4 or AOD.
    Thanks for the advice
