I'm swapping a 5.0 with carb, can I use the timing cover for the 302 with the pulleys and belts for the 5.0? I want the timing cover for mechanical gas pump. Tks.
Old timing cover on the 5.0? Yes, see my sig. You may have to drill out the locating dowel for the cover. And you need to run a standard rotation water pump. If you're using the 5.0 timing chain set either run a 2-piece fuel pump eccentric or a 1-piece with the cam sprocket face milled .100" (what I did) or the eccentric will rub the timing cover.
