    Radmav,

I have a 1-1/8th bar on my Mustang and love it. How much to get Addco to custom make it? Can they provide the mounting hardware too

A shot of what the adapter on top of the shocktower looks like. I have not yet put the braces on, but other than my fuel injection being in the way, they should fit just like stock.

That front suspension looks GREAT! I'm real concerned about handling, but I can live with the stock parts+ sway bars. Just a question about the Shelby relocation mod. Is this effective on the Mav? I know a lot of guys do it to Falcons. I did it on my '65, but is the geometry on the 70's Mavericks like the same as the early Mustangs/Falcons? I have also been told that doing this mod causes the upper ball joint to wear out quicker. Any feed back on that? My Maverick will not be a daily driver, but I may try to autocross it a bit.

    Thanks.

When I had the suspension all apart, I looked at lowering the stock upper control arm, and from what I could see it would not work because the shock tower is too narrow there and would touch the arm. Apparently the Mustang and Cougar shock tower is a different shape. The TCP arm did not have this problem.

The instructions that came with the coilover kit had a template for lowering by 1" and they recommended it. Before I actually did that I searched the internet to see if there were pros and cons and from the various things I read it seems that 1" of drop has little effect on the upper ball joint and the binding or premature wear becomes an issue if you lower it much more. I guess some people lower it 2" or more.

Here is a link to one of the sites with the template and the instructions : http://www.themustangshop.com/lowarm.cfm

I dont remember exactly how much the bars were, but they didnt seem to cost that much, and the bars come with all mounting hardware, brackets and bushiings that are needed.

hotrodbob-Being that you live in Burbank, do you ever attend the Toluca Lake Bobs Big Boy cruise? I've taken my 72 Grabber there a couple of times, as my girlfriend lives in Sunland.

GSJohnson, Yep I'm at Bob's as often as I can. Usually with my '63 Ranchero or '48 Plym coupe. I got interested in Mavericks again after seeing a few at Bob's. Might have been yours as well.

Maybe we should get a Maverick Cruz night going. I do that for the Falcon Club. we will be at the Weinerschnitzel/Tastee freeze (San Fernando Blvd nead Burbank Blvd and IHOP) in Burbank this Saturday (Aug.9) Join us. If possible, I'll try and get my wife to drive the Maverick down and I'll have the Ranchero.
