    I had a job pumping gas in '72...it was 21¢ a gallon for regular (94 octane), in '69 it was low as 17¢ during a gas war

    My parents remember digging for change to put gas in their car and cruise around.......unfortunately now I dig real deep into my wallet just to get around :cry:

    In inflation adjusted dollars $3626 is now $20,129 dollars. Makes sense when you factor in the fact that the average Americans inflation adjusted wage hasn't gone up since the late 70s. The cars prices out ran the inflation :(

    But then again the new Stangs are far better equipped in standard form. I mean disk brakes, AC, PS, super stereos anti lock brakes, it goes on and on :)

    in 1971 I convinced my poor mom that my 1969 428 cobra was worn out and we needed to trade for a new mustang...not just a mustang but a boss 351 mustang about $4400 dollars and then I only kept that about a year..man if i knew then what i know now

    I remember when I was around 19 in 1991-92 seeing a modest conditioned 70 BOSS 302 for sale in a bowling alley parking lot for $3200 and begging my dad to float me the extra money to buy it. He just looked at me like I was crazy and said "No way I'm helping you buy an old worn out car." Well I got the BOSS's color at least :) Yes my Grabber is exactly the same color :)
