That is total bs. You can't use your device out of the box without having to buy an add-on. I would take it back and tell them to get stuffed.
I totally agree.. I did however go get a memory card and used the Garmin (practice) to get home. It worked so I guess I will see how it does when I really need it. My Mapsco is always with me when I go on my ventures into Dallas so at least I have a plan B. Even though I know most of Dallas, there are times my brain won't stop concentrating on other things or maybe I just can't think of a shorter route.. Main thing is I need a device that will hold customers names and addresses and how to get there.. I should be able to do this without having to use internet on the fly. I had a bright sales person suggest that I print the route before I leave the house.. sheeese..
Mine is a NUVI 2595, and I've had no issues. In the fine print, it says: Comes preloaded with United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, and Bahamas.....wow!
That's what mine says also.. I may ask them if I can remove locations like ALL but United States. Maybe that will free up some memory..
Man, makes me even more glad I went the route I did. Co-Pilot on my tablet let's me save as many destinations as I want and routing to them is as easy as tap tap tap. Although the other day I loaded a route into it, and it kept displaying me backwards because I put my tablet in the mount upside down... had the GPS confused. Good luck with the Garmin.
So....they've changed how they do things, I just had to download Garmin Express..never had to have it before, and it's been updating for three hours now...........
