Led Zeppelin is the best and MUST be played loud when driving, oh yeah and played loud at home too. Hell just play it loud ALL the time. Whole lotta love baby!!!!!
On the bumps and dents, isn't the rear track width narrower than the front track width? My brother had a '72 that we swapped in a built 400 SBF, and I seem to remember that the rear end looked narrower than the front? I'd LOVE to have an older truck, but I'd go with a 65-66 rather than anything later. Not that I don't love the later body style but the 65-66 is just my favorite. Love the body line.
Yuck Yuck and Yuck again... I can't imagine a full size Ford Pickup with a 4 cyl. engine in it.... what good would it even be... WOW that just doesn't even sit well with my brain
Check out the location of the fuel fill. The US built trucks where behind the seat and if you had dual tanks like on the truck I had the second fill was on the drivers bedside in front of the rear wheel.
They made the bumpside trucks in Brazil up until, I want to say 93? There used to be pictures somewhere on Fordification. They also came with a Y block in them in Brazil!
Couple of comments I can't hold back on that one... They call the engine "Robusto"!?! Wtf? Doesn't that translate to "Strong"? Is that a Falcon (70 Maverick) type 7" rear under there? Maybe it is a bit bigger... Maybe a Granada 8.7"... ??? They put the fuel tank in the back because apparently rear enders don't actually ever happen in Brazil... They couldn't do it here because of the explosion hazard. (so they put in the cab with the bodies) 87 Liters of fuel. Wouldn't that be a 40-something gallon fuel tank? That's why they couldn't put the spare under there. Oh, and that brings me to the pizza cutter tires! I suppose any wider and the rolling resistance would stall the "robust" Pinto engine. Edit: Forgot about Jamie's comment... Some classic designs should never be disgraced with a plastic grille and square headlights like they did to this truck eventually. Edit2: I just realized something... They weren't required to have ANY of the weight adding safety features on this truck like they needed here. All that adds up. Extra bracing, occupant protection, safety glass, seat belts, etc and so on. That truck probably weighs MUCH less than the equivalent US version. So the I4 could probably actually get the thing rolling eventually. Check out the Maverick radiator!
I'm partial to the 66's also And yes, the rearends are narrower than the fronts on those trucks. I think w/ the body style change after the 72s they were closer to the same width. My 66 w/ narrow wheels shows it terrible, with wider wheels its not as noticable
I don't know if this will help any of you truck guys, especially since it is over in 2 hours... But this looks like a nice grille, and it is only up to 100 bux. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/67-6...ryZ33645QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Not a bad find... and not that bad of price. Seen better and worse.. Hopefully someone on here can use it
