will the front coils from a V8 fit onto the front end of the I6 cars? my car used to have the 200 I6, and now i have put in a 351W and need to get the front end off the floor. a friend of mine gave me the coils off of a 302 and i was just curious if they would fit onto my car.

Retoocs; long time no see. Yes, the springs will fit, if they are off of a mustang, maverick, comet, etc. They should give you a bit better control, and better ride. I swapped in the 302, and kept the 6cyl springs, and it still is good. Good luck!

With the extra weight of the 351, I'd seriously consider new coils if I were you. I just bought a set of new Moog coils and they were well under $100/pair. Just because the coils you were given were off a 302 Mav, doesn't mean they're any stronger than yours. They could be just as weak due to wear. It's a lot of work just to have to tear them out again.

I have a set of springs intended for putting a 351 in a Mav. I was going to do that swap once upon a time but changed my mind. The springs have never been used, just been sitting in my garage.

yes earl, i have faded outta here since i haven't really had the urge or money to really work on my car, but now i am sick of looking at it and i want it out. hopefully u guys on this board can help me out with some ideas to see how this goes.

so anywayz, some more details on these springs, they came out of a 302 maverick and have sat on a shelf for 7 years with the previous owner and now 3 with me. so they are pretty much back to the stiffness they once were.

but is there a nice set of springs off of a 6 cyl maverick or should i buy something for the V8 setup?

bmcdaniel - how much would u like for the springs u got laying around?

P.S. What would people think of about my other cars motor into the maverick? its a Mustang SVO, u all remember the 2.3 turbo 4cyl???:bananaman its just a thought, but i am leaning towards leavin the 351W in the maverick. (just a side thought)

retoocs; the turbo in the Mav sounds interesting, but I would imagine a bit of work. Maybe if you could find someone with a 4cyl in Brazil on the board, some of the parts would be easier to find. I like the 351 idea. No substitute for cubic inches!!!

Sorry, don't remember who made them. I'll weigh them tomorrow and get you a price.
