Vacuum leak under the manifold?

    Well like you said, this thread has become long and muddled. I missed the part about the other carb.

    Yes... I'm a little muddled right now.

    And thanks again everyone for your input.

    The last possibility I thought was a small vac leak at each intake port in the crankcase.
    Well I vac tested it today and it takes about 20 seconds for the pressure to rise back to zero from about 21 inches hg.

    I think that amount of air would be totally inconsequential on a running engine. Even at idle. And it was probably coming in under the lifting plate and gasket sealing the top of the manifold anyway.

    So I'm going to think on this and drive it.

    It's still lots of fun to drive. It's violently quick.
