I'm being offered a Maverick to take in on a trade... I don't know much more than what's on the ad and the photos shown. No idea on the interior yet. Any idea on what this might be worth? Says engine doesn't run, but I'm sure a tune up will change that. http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/cto/4505077882.html Any estimates are greatly appreciated. It's in South Florida too if that matters as far as location effecting the price. THANKS!
When I first looked at the photo of the engine, I thought Wow, they have a special head and intake for the carb to be on the left side! I blew up the photo and then saw someone had just took off the air cleaner and set it there. Bummer! Yeah, that body is bad! I'd say $300 would be a fair price if the interior was half decent.
Looks like it has AC? And Power Disc Brakes? Those two systems, with complete parts, would be easy to sell I would think. Sport mirrors and Hood scoop is sought for also. I suggest parting it out. Should easily be able recoup your $300?
A parts car, in my opinion, is worth $500. That rust looks SEVERE. It is funny....I have a 1977 Comet that is rusted in the same spot, but it is the only rust on the car. Maybe you can get that lucky.
id go look at it and crawl under it. look under the carpet, etc, trunk. I just got a 73 yamaha RD350 (in pieces) that the oil tank was so rusted due to water dripping in it froma leaking roof it was shot, hole right through it. rest of it is solid, 0 rust in the fuel tank. Point being for strange reasons rust can centralize in one spot for unforseen reasons. always worth a look.
Oh I know. I'm just teasing you. I'd pay $500 for a parts-car if there were quite a few good parts on it. I paid $400 for a Camaro parts-car 14 years ago. 'Would still try to get it for $300 - $350.
$300-$500. Disc brakes are worth $200 rearend is worth $100 and the carcass woul bring $225-250 for scrap
I've talked with this guy and he sounded stoned. He is looking to trade for an AK among other things. He is out in the boonies. I wouldn't go out there alone, take a friend.
