damn it. went to drive my car today, got down to downtown memphis and noticed my car wouldn't idle... ended up somebody screwed in my idle screws on my carb.. looks like they loosened two spark plug's too. number 1 and number 8... i now have rough idle, and an oil light on....
i will have to check all the plugs, check the oil pressure, and readjust the carb if everything checks out...

if not start looking for another engine, and get out the ar-15 !!!!
next bastard that messes with my vehicles .....

where is the oil pressure sensor on a 302?

Loosened spark plugs, especially one all the way in the back? ... too much work to be random (that takes more tools and planning than just a little pocket screwdriver) ... did you tick somebody off?... have some immature joker as a friend?

I would bet that the oil light is on just because the motor is idling at too low of a speed. If it is still on at 800 rpm, the wire might not be securely attached to the sender, or it may be something more serious.

One way to stop this from happening again would be to bolt a short piece of chain to the hood bracing, that is just long enough that you can padlock it to the rad support. You pop the hood open and leave just enough room that you can unlock it, but they can't lift it high enough to unbolt the chain or mess with anything.

I think I also saw a tech article here about installing a remote hood latch.

You can also weld a few tabs on the hood and rad support to have a combo lock, Works great unless you have a glass or carbon fiber hood.

Lock and load baby, lock and load. Use the .357, .45 or 50 cal. for pick 'em up knock down power, and by all means don't hit the car! As we used to say in the Corps, dead men tell no tales! lol
Seriously, I'd go with an up-dated/or quick lock for the hood since you are living in a larger city--its a simple inexpensive solution. And just a thought, any cameras around where your car was parked? If so, ck it out and you might be surprised in what you find! Cameras are everywhere these days.
Good luck and sorry to hear of your misfortune!
Stay tuned man and keep us posted on what happens or what you end up doing!

Pretty weird. I wouldn't expect that kind of random sabotage in Collierville. That's kinda where people move when they want to get away from all that. Guess crime can happen anywhere though...

Well hopefully you'll make that number a bit higher Thursday night, if this rain ever backs down...

Sorry to hear,,, are you sure someone was messing with it?? #8 plug would be a last choice. I'm hoping just vibration caused the problem. Good Luck
