VIN Sequence number... how close is your car to someone else's???

Thanks Greg! I have added it to the list. I'm questioning whether or not it's a REAL Comet GT... (LDO seats, GT Stripe missing "COMET GT" lettering at the back)

 

I believe the '75(and maybe '74?) used the LDO seats...

It's apparently been painted red as the engine bay is black, also trunk latch is painted and flaking off... Looks like something is going on at lower rear of drivers door...

 

Thanks, I never put two and two together about the seats! I figured they had non-LDO buckets like the later Mavericks. I imagine the car could have been an original Comet GT and the lettering just got missed when the stripe was remade, installed.

 

Almost looks like some green paint up inside the hole on the inside of the deck lid.

 

The high back buckets were likely discontinued when the M-II appeared...

 

In the last picture one can tell repop quarters has been hung on the car, or at least a substantial rust repair in that area has been done.

I have to say I have never seen the entire door panel and dash done in diamond tuck before.

This '72 Grabber showed up this week in a local trading post. They were asking $1,800 for it. We went to look at it. It is a parts car at best and many of the good parts (Grabber hood, spoiler, grille, front bumper & brackets) are not worth having! It had a 1982 inspection sticker, so it has been sitting for about 30 years. Looked to be original paint except for the passenger side front fender.

It is a factory 302, automatic, bucket seats and floor shift car with manual steering. The sport mirrors are good, the buckets have the tracks and spacers and the floor shifter and hump is there. The front lip of the hood is so far gone that is actually bends when you try and open the hood.

Yes. When Stefan changed over to the new Forums last year, he created VIN Lists under "Resources" so that they were a fixed unit, rather than me having to try and post it all (and fit it all) into one post in the thread. The List has been broken-down into each model-year.
