'71 Comet GT that I saw today. It is a nice car with a 351 motor and a 5 speed trans. Medium blue with black stripes and blue interior.

Looked at the 1976 VIN list, and mine is 1,234 from EB252107136982 on the list. Next closest is supersonic man at 14,411 separation.

This is supposed to be an original 'Bear Cat' Comet GT that was sold new in Raleigh, NC. I went and looked at the car in northern NC last Thursday. The seller had the original 'Bear Cat' wheels and the correct '72 bucket seats (car had '71 seats with comfortweave) in his garage.

The asking price was $4,800 and he said he would take $4,500. The Craigslist ad was taken down two days after I looked at it so it may have sold.

Here are a few pics that I took.

Thanks for sharing Greg! Looks like a good car (and extra bucket seats :)).

0X91T202368 (69 1/2 model as it had the dash mounted ignition switch)

I saw this on the way home from a trip I was on today. It was sitting in a sign shop parking lot. I had never seen it before.

I went inside to inquire about who owned it. They told me it was a customer's car and that were getting ready to put black Grabber stripes on the side and on the hood and do the black on the tail panel.

They told me the owner's name and I actually know the guy from fooling arounf with Foxbody Mustangs through the years. They said he would never sale the car because his mother bought the car new.

They said it still had the 6 cylinder in it. It was kind of a pale gray color with red bench seat interior that had been recovered in cloth and automatic on the column.

A Grabber hood and Grabber spoiler had been added. It had some aftermarket chrome wheels that were still 4 lug. I will be interested to see it after they finish with the stripes.

Here are a couple of pics.

This car was for sale on Craigslist about 2 hours from me. I mde the drive to take a look at it and it was pouring down rain when I got there.

Seemed like a pretty solid car for the asking price of $1,800. It is a rare color combo. Its is painted Bright Red with a white painted hardtop and Red Vermillion knit vinyl bench seat interior.

Here is a picture of the door sticker:

The Craigslist ad has been taken down so I'm guessing that it has been sold.

WOW the 118th serialized, likely built first day of 1977 regular production(would have already been some pre production models built), to bad it's such a POS...

Who knows...it might be worth trying to fix since it is now the earliest known KC '77. A LOT of work, though...

I dunno having the earliest known '77 Maverick isn't something I'd bet to be worth any more than the 1000th or 21,647th... Just cool if you own it...

Back in '86 or '87 I junked a '76 Stang II that was 100026(by far lowest VIN of any car I've owned), still not something I'm loosing sleep over... It'd been hit hard on the passenger side, at time I needed a driver and bought it, beat it out enough to get door to open/shut... Eventually put motor in a nice '78...
