I went to look at it since it is in my hometown. It is a pretty solid and straight car but he is asking $8K for it though he said he is pretty negotiable.

It has a 302 and T5 trans with long tubes, cam, aluminum intake and a 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears. IMO in the condition it is in with some of the items that need addressing (interior work, some minor rust at the bottom of the driver's side door) I would say it is a $4K-$5K car.

The car was originally painted Bright Lime like my '72 Grabber.

It was black. Other than the hood, it seemed to be in pretty good shape, didn't get under and look at the rust though.

That one was already on the list with a Nashville Craigslist link. Looks like a clean car, but it's kind of "half-way" (confused) between a Base Comet and a Comet GT. It needs to be taken the rest of the way... IMHO

 

I'd Agree with Paul, but it's not even a ¼ way to being a GT, no buckets, hood scoop, or racing mirror on passenger side.. Then there is issue of getting rid of that funky body line moulding, along with stripe and applying correct striping... And to kick it one more time, the grill isn't painted correctly...

BUT it does appear to be a nice car...

 

Sorry about that! I do think I remember the seller stating that he drove in back from TN when he bought it.

The molding is the worst part of the car. If you want to remove it then you have to paint both sides of the car!
