I found about an older gentleman that lived in my area that had some Mavericks. My dad, uncle and I met up with him and looked at his cars and visited for a couple of hours. Nice way to spend a December afternoon.

He bought the '71 Grabber in '75 and drove it daily until '90. He said it had 54K miles on it when he bought it and 217K on it when he parked it. He said nothing had ever been done to the 250 motor or the trans.

He bought the '70 model in '05 the year after he retired. He slowly worked on it and used the Grabber parts off of the yellow car to make a Grabber clone out of it. He still has to get the paint buffed then he will install the Grabber stripes (black) and paint the black on the hood. The motor is a '71 302 out of a Ford truck. Small cam and a 4 barrel carb added.

Thanks for sharing! I think I saw pictures of these cars on FB? You just bought the red one as a roller? Nice cars either way.

Your VINs have been added to their respective lists by Model Year. http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/categories/maverick-comet-vin-list.12/

Paul, yes they are the ones I posted on the FB page. I've had the yellow one for 10 years or so. The red one is just coming on board.

My Arizona Grabber, looks like it was originally in Vermillion (based on the paint still on the underside of the deck lid.)

Wow! 91 pages. Took me 40 or 50 pages to figure out the lists were now in the resources page.. Love this thread!

Thanks for sharing. So your car is a REAL 1970 Grabber? I have added your VIN to the list for 1970.
