    Yeah I found a forum for mullet mobiles,, uhh, I mean 3rd gen F bodys... Kind of felt like doing this as I was joining it... :vomito: :rolleyes:

    you can build a crossmember to support the front torque arm mount. geting rid of an overdive trans with a lock up conveter is a significant downgrade to the car. expecially sence you cant just bolt it in with the torque arm. i dont know what year trans am the other person had. the trans am and camaro have the same suspenion type for the same years.

    '84 Z-28 camaro..orig. 305 HO 700r4 4w disc ..like i say it worked for me without any problems..now that's not to say Im suggesting any body else do it .. but they may like to know I did it with out any regrets.

    Right now it's got a trans that has 2 gears and tops out at 30 mph, anything is an upgrade. Overdrive really won't be needed as this car will pretty much never see any extended highway driving. She lives less then 2 miles from where she works and other then that it'll just be used for general driving around town. Right now I just need to slap something in there to get the car on the road. Can always change it again later if need be.

    Yeah this car has 4 wheel discs as well. I'll take a look at the rear suspension and see for sure what the deal is.
