Contratulations John, that is sweet!! I know you'll be happy to have a place to put your tools, other than the van!!(y) You're right about not wanting to build one too big, being a real estate appraiser I have a some insight on this.

Some people want a garage, some people don't. Very few want a MASSIVE garage, so that limits your market when you go to sell. Keep it reasonable and it should appeal to a larger segment of the market when you go to sell.

if you know your going to stay there, build the biggest you can afford. the price of real estate has skyrocketed here and everyone says i'm going to make a killing because i have 5 lots. i tell them i'm not going to make a penny as i plan on dying here. my heirs can worry about selling the place.:)

it rained for 10 straight days here up until Monday.

John, kick ass!!!! I bet you are pumped up. :bananaman I'm excited for you!! I drew up plans for a garage and got some estimates. A lot of $$$$$ due to digging out a hill. My plans incorperated a bachalor pad upstairs with dancing pole, bar, water bed and the whole works.:evilsmile My wife was pissed!!!!!! I'm probably going to go with high ceilings instead to fit a lift at a later date. :D Good luck!! Hope everything runs as smooth as possible.
