Fun Ford Sunday is on September 10th at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo. Here's the website www.funfordsunday.com. The event is run by Ford owners clubs in Northern California. The MCCI should join. It's only $25 for lifetime membership.

"Council Membership: Open to any FORD club, anywhere, with a one-time application fee of $25."

They hold quarterly meetings to plan the Fun Ford Sunday event.

Unlike Good Guys, the FFS groups the same or similar cars together in Classes. I suggested putting Mavericks/Comets in the same Class with Falcons/Comets. :Handshake There are three different Falcon Clubs in the Council, so I don't know how Falcon owners would feel about sharing their space with Mavericks.

I just signed up online, which doesn't have a place to enter Class. I sent an email asking to put all Mavericks together. There may be 3 or 4 of us, and we should all ask to be put together.

Who did you sign up with, and how much did it cost, do you have the parking all taken care of?Meaning that all the mavs will be together.

Is the Ford Fun weekend show judge or a get together like the G-Guys? Is this going to be a MCCI Official Meet or just a local gathering? Like Tom asked, are you planning a caravan to the show? If so what time are you meeting and where? Is there anyone planning to come from So-Cal or from the neighboring states?

I'm not hosting. It's not a club meet, but clubs can join the Nor-Cal Ford Car Club Council which plans the event. The show is a Northern California version of the Knotts Berry Farm show in the Fall. It is not directly connected with the Knotts show. It's like Good Guys but for Fords only. They get everything from Model-T's to new Mustangs. Space is limited so you have to register in advance. Everyone would be on your own. I anticipated 3 or 4 Mavericks might show up, based on interest I've gotten in other threads.

Click on the link to go to the show website. http://www.funfordsunday.com/ You can download the application or register online. If you fill out the application, you will see a list of "Classes" for different models. There is none for Mavericks. I suggested registering with Falcons/Comets in Class 17, so that all Mavericks would be put together. That's my only idea to get together. Otherwise we would be put with different cars, depending on when we get there.

The Blackhawk suggestion is separate from this. That could be a hosted mini-meet, but I was just throwing that out as another possible place to get together. If you are interested in meeting at the Blackhawk museum, I can look into what exhibits they will be having later in the year, and what we could do after meeting up.

I'm planning to attend the Fun Ford Sunday. I'm encouraging other Mavericks and Comets to attend too. I'm telling you about it, so you will go too. I'm trying to get everyone to register in the same Class, so all Mavericks will be put together at the show. That's all.

Well don't sound much of a plan, I predict a bust!

If you read all the posts with a plan for Reno, and you know what happen there, if the folks don't show up at a small car show, where they could have had a good turn out, I don't think they will show at a huge show like goodguys or fun Sunday without a good plan in place. The traffic to and from the goodguys show is like a parking lot on the freeway (unless you are on the road very early) just not worth the effort anymore. The Goodguys shows of years ago were great, now a days there noithing !
I don't know who you talked to at fun sunday , but there's not much info about it with regards to who you plan on meeting up with and where you'll park etc.

As far as the Blackhawk Museum goes it's a nice place to see, it's a little snobby , does have some very cool cars ( but is not a car show )

Untill you can get a firm commitment from the west coast Mavickers owners to meet somewhere small and kick some ideas around you will NEVER see the likes of the Round Up! Now those guys got there act together.

It would help if one would start a new thread on the subject...might get more interest.

Well, I do commend you guys on a start. At least some people did indeed show. You have to start somewhere and you now have that behind you. Focus on the future and making things happen. I would love to someday be able to enjoy a west coast roundup with you . Best of luck to you all!

i'd like to go to a west coast roundup also. guess i'll just have to settle for driving 30 hours to ky. i can't go to anything as long as i'm running for points at the local tracks and there's a conflict on dates. i usually know at the beginning of the year what weekends i'm free so i can plan. but i do have to wait for the racing schedule before i commit to anything. lucky this year the tucson track decided to get done early. i have a race in phoenix on july 22, then leave for roundup on the 23rd. figure to get back on the 2nd and my next race is the 19th in phoenix. right now i don't have a street car that i would take that far yet.but if i can make it i will try.

I'm going to post a new thread, or two theads. One on the Knotts Berry Farm show, which is used as a Mini-Meet in Southern California, and one on local car shows that are not club meets.

I will have to agree with Tom. I can't believe all that said they were going to be there in Reno and didn't show up. We all agreed on Reno because it was centrally located for everyone in the Western States. It goes to show you can't take anyones word anymore. Especially when it comes to planning a Western Roundup. I bet you guys in the Mid-West and East Coast are laughing inside at our failure to attempt to pull off a Western Roundup. If you say that your going to be there then be there, car or no car. Car finished or not. I still showed up without my car. If I could have got my transmission problems fixed I was going to bring mine even though there is no paint on the front drivers side fender and no back seat. It was a show & shine / get together for us Maverick owners. Not a Concourse show! I will think twice now before committing my time to a meet unless it is well planned out and I know trust worthy people are going to be there and actually show up. No foul to the people who did show up. They are the trust worthy ones that I would meet with again.
