    Hey Roz.

I don't have a clue about online registration, didn't think to ask. I will, but if you get it figured out first please just post it. If the racetrack happens on Friday it will pretty much be an all day thing. That's 3 of us now.

    Secret Code

for the hotel is "MMC". I assume it is for Mustangs, Mavericks, Comets.:biglaugh:
Tom didn't mention he'll be bringing more than one car. Inspiring me to have the '70 289, 4 spd there along with the '73. Go to the Mustang show with Mustang high back buckets, toploader out of a '66 Mustang, the hipo 289 badges on the side(no horsey). Let 'em razz me about robbing their "real" cars. We'll see how many show up at the track if it works out. Track is having a meeting tomorrow(tues) night, I'm supposed to hear Wednesday. There is some kind of race Sat., don't know if that works to our advantage, or against us, for Fri. I guess they can pretty much predict how many people they can get for any given T&T, and if it's enough, they'll do it.

Can I make it on a tank of gas?

I'd like to drive non-stop from San Ramon to Reno. That's about 220 miles. I have the 302 V8, which gets about 16 mpg locally. The gas tank is supposed to hold 15 gals, but it is hard to top off. Do you think I can make it all the way without stopping to fill up?

I would have to say no. With going over Altamont Pass and through the Sierra's that's a lot of up hill driving with your foot in the throttle. Your best bet would be to top off in Sacramento or Roseville. The higher you get up the mountain the higher the gas prices go too.

if you go 88 i always stop when i get off of 99 onto 88 and fuel up, then fuel up again in gardnerville/minden. on 50 i usually stop just after getting on 50, but watch that area its a little rough. then fuel up again in south lake. if you go 80 there are stations just north of sac that are fairly good, then you should be good till around boomtown. you could drive further between stops but i have this thing about a low on fuel tank when going long distance.

I plan to take the 680 over the Benecia bridge to the 80 and stay on 80 the rest of the way. I'm about 90 miles from Sacramento. If I fill up in Roseville, I should be able to make it the rest of the way. Thanks for the help.

Roz: I suggest that you stop and fill up at Newcastle (exit 115) at the AMPM it's right off the freeway, easy off and easy on. This just before Auburn and almost exactly 100 miles to Reno. The place has been there a long time, it has a picnic table on the side of the place, you can get a snack and drinks, restrooms etc.

I'm not running this gig, but here's a idea! This would be a good meeting place for anyone that's coming from the Bay area, Sacramento, Lincoln, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol ,etc. One could set the meeting time between 1100 and 1145 , with a departure time at high noon,we could then convoy up and over the Sierra Navada's, with a pit stop at Donner Summit for a photo shoot. I mean how cool would that be? It's a once in a lifetime opportunely to have a number of Mavericks at the top of Donner Summit.

I still don't know who's all going to Reno from the Bay Area ( other then you and I)

Can You Califorina folks chim in here and say "YES" I'm going or "NO" I have other plan's.

    Thanks

    Tom

I am from Sacramento and that sounds like a great idea to me. My Maverick won't be in show condition, but I hope to have it there.
