Yes I was referring to vehicles as sold, Ford had no control of what Johnny Hod Rod did to their vehicles(maybe swapped in a 350 chevy). Were plenty of Mavericks/Comets modified to be faster than it's average Mustang counterpart. With similar mods to each, I'll still give the '71-'73 Cleveland Mustang the win.

I finished putting in new “194” bulbs in for the trouble lights and have 3 LED bulbs for illumination. Also got rid of the seatbelt buzzer. Now to get my dash back together.

I got the speedometer cable stabbed into the back of the speedometer. It was actually hard to get the plastic tab to lock it in place. I manage to give it the mighty push to the cable and the tab slipped into the circumferential grove. I found on the 73 Mav, pulling the radio gave access to the cable. The radio is held in place with three screws in the front and a nut at the back.

I put in the last of the components including the passenger side fresh air duct, the dashboard “ facia” the passenger side kick panel and the cardboard glove box. Not shown is the glovebox door that is also installed. Ready to fire it up tomorrow!

Got my plates. I plated it for the summer ( just four months). The liability insurance was less than $200.

I removed the battery that was on its way out. I have a lot of clean up to do in the area and I’m thinking of doing a POR 15 treatment on the tray. Here’s a shot of the tray and the funky cold air induction. Enjoy.

I'm a Rust Bullet person myself...do a search on here for some other people that have used it.

Decided just to paint the battery tray with rust paint for now. Will deal with it later.

I ground out the surface rust in the front wheel wells and coated it with Rust Bullet.

Interesting article....but wheelstands and 99 mph with an et of low 16? I know they wanted to sell copies, but......all I can say is I read it as far as my eyes could deal with the small print, so it drew me in even 50 years after it was written.

I finished my wheel wells and shot Ford Pearl White 9C paint over top the Rust Bullet and a bit of Bondo to smooth things out.It still needs a second coat.
