Awesome car, love the color. Makes me happy to see people investing this much in these underappreciated cars. I have so much fun watching people's reactions vs. the other more popular cars from this era.

Replaced the needle and seat. Hopefully the float level will now be consistent.

Slow and steady progress on the Gauge Cluster. Finding a 3-3/8 and 2-1/16 hole saw has been the most challenging thing so far.

Thanks! I've always been drawn to the less desired cars. We have a restomod '78 King Cobra also. It's interesting to see people just trying to figure out what the Maverick is. lol... The car is/was totally debadged. I recently found a nice Grabber grille emblem that I restored and put in the car to help out those who couldn't figure it out. :)

Since you had all the parts loose why not change those return springs?

My car took me to a car show this past week. Here it is with a couple of friend's cars at an annual employee appreciation day where we used to work.

I'm guessing it may have to do with the weight. I pulled mine a couple weeks ago and it was completely gone.

The Optima Red Top died last night. I cannot complain. Two months short of ten years old. Only 10,000 miles on the restoration with the battery on the charger 99% of the time.

One thing I can complain about is inflation. Then, $179. Today, $299.

The old one said Johnson Controls. The new one says Clarios (who ever that is) and made in Mexico.
