Got the bumper brackets on the rear bumper. My FIL is coming up next week for a visit, so he and I are going to measure out the placement so I can drill the holes.

When I was young I rode motorcycles with a friend whose Mom had a Comet in that goldenrod color. The front end literally got run over by a dump truck. She loved the car, so they fixed it up good as new.

My 76 Maverick at Fall Fest. There was only one other Maverick there, early model blue 2 door.

This forum has gotten pretty quiet lately.

I have been having some EFI issues lately. Really poor idle when the AC is on. To the point that I had to turn it off every time I came to a stop light. It took my tuner a couple months to take a look. He seems to have straightened the AC out and a high idle while running in drive. He rewrote some of the code and actually gave me the best idle I have ever had. He suspects there is another issue with my O2 sensor ground. I could not find one and that made the computer suspect. They are known for capacitors leaking after 35 years.

Thankfully, I had a spare computer in the attic. Things are going for $500 now. Capacitors looked good but I replaced all three for good measure.

Then I got to enjoy contorting myself to get the computer swapped out and the wideband online again.

New computer installed. Tune uploaded and laptop data logging. I went out for a drive and did a few WOT runs to see if there are any O2 sensor issues remaining. Data sent to tuner and awaiting any updates.

I joined you-tube in 2021. This forum still is, and probably forever will be, The #1 resource for these cars. The future for me looks like a manufactured home park, or other dwelling, where you cant even work on a car. It is a bitter pill to swallow, but my dollar stretcher is getting as stiff as my back and these are the decisions of the day unless things get better real soon. Long live hot rodding, creativity, junkyards, and dirty hands.
