Our original 40,000 mile 6 cyl 72 my wife calls Thelma, and our 69 1/2 car that ive raced for 15 years is Shag Nasty.
Mine's not officially named yet because I do that after they're built. However, you could say that they're unofficially named The Red One and The Green One right now since that's the answer I give when someone asks what I'm working on. I am seriously thinking of Ruby for the Red GT and Jade for the Green GT when they get built. -Scott H.
I call mine Rusty, cause i should have found a different starting point and its from Iowa so it is gifted with Rusty quarters and most of the other panels have or had some rust at one point or another.
My white one that I had in the 80s was The Anvil, because I used to beat on it mercilessly like it was one... It was also known as "The Other Woman" because the ex-wife used to say "you spend more time with that stupid car than you do with me". She stopped that rant when I told it that was because it didn't talk back. The green one that I currently have is "The Comet" ... no confusing it with anything else here. It was known for a while as "Timex". It killed a lifter while on the Hot Rod Power Tour. Did I fix it by the side of the road?... nope. Just kept driving it. Pulled into the event each night ... tick, tick, tick, tick, tick ..... "takes a licking and keeps on ticking". (I think I'm showing my age there ... old 60/70s TV commercial). Got it home, and found it was eating two other lifters, too. Stiff springs and stock lifters don't play well together.
my orange one was called Eileen II when i had it......... The one i have now doesnt have a name as of yet thinking about calling it " The Elder " still not sure yet..... Im still trying to come up with a color.
