I've seen the car, and I don't think it would weigh that much. I'm guessing about 1700-1800. It's been pretty well stripped. Traction will be the biggest thing, may need some weight in the trunk. A set of slicks would help hook it up a lot. With all the weight on the nose, it'll probably spin to half track or more....

No, the car had never been on a track. The stock rear probably would have puked the first time you dropped the clutch on a track. It was built back in '99, and a total of 1400 miles had been put on it since then, when I bought it in April of 2007. I put like 7000 miles on the car in three months, if that's any indication of how much I liked driving that car. Shredded the pinion gear in the rear in July of 2007, it's been sitting ever since. I've got a T5Z waiting to go in, and I'm currently in the (slow going) process of narrowing an 8 inch Maverick rear for it. Plan to put 3.70 limited slip chunk in the Maverick rear. Been debating on pulling the engine and putting a 331 stroker kit in it as well, though that would be a lot of work since the front half of the car was basically rebuilt around the engine. I'd have to unbolt the front suspension cross member and jack the body up off the engine to remove it.

I am pretty sure it will spin bad out of the hole. I am hoping to get it to hook at about the 60 ft mark. I am guessing the car at around 1900lb + 185 for me. Any of you bama guys want to watch me embarass myself at the track in a few weeks j/k

We took it tonight. It spun bad and we were just putting it in drive. Dad ran a 9.79 at 73mph and I ran a 10.06 at 75mph. This car still has a lot left in it. I figure it'll be in the 8's with slicks
