I can understand that...it was "my Cobra Jet"...when referring to brake drums, spindles, door handles etc,etc I didn't connect. to me that would be like me saying..."the wheels on my LS are steel"... it's all good...now I know when you say that you are talking about a Fairlane...
Not to be argumentative, but I know on a Maverick there was definitely a different size hub on a 5-lug drum brake 1971-1973 car compared to all 1974-1977 Mavericks. When a 1971-1972 5-lug car is converted to disc brakes from a Maverick/Granada/etc, the wheels from 1971-1972 will not fit over the hub.
I am a big believer and user of Hollander. The info in there is great to find donor parts. But -in all the cars I have had, I've found both small and big hub wheels on them. I don't know if the car was born with them, or maybe found there way onto the car after a swap from some other car. Years ago it was pretty common to find someone in your local papers classifieds selling a set of good tires "on Ford rims". It was a way to buy a set of tires cheap. And way back, when you had a car here in the north, you found another set of wheels that fit your car for your winter tires. Here is a pic of a couple tires that came off some of my Mavericks. Both hub sizes can be seen.
Hollander is like the internet, you cant believe everything you read. Its a great basic source of information but not 100% accurate in all cases. Erics pic show proof of that, cant argue with that
I run the ScareBird brake kit on my Maverick with aftermarket 14" wheels, this kit reuses the brum brake spindle and hub. https://scarebird.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=65&product_id=84
