i have the 302 mounts and they bult up to the 351w like they should i just cant seem to get them to fit up to the maverick. i can get 1 in just fine but other i cant i've even tried to use longer bults and spacers to give more room to play with. when i got the car they had some really old ones with matted rubber and so i replaced them, so what i wanted to know is their a custom mount i need to make it work( a 351w in a maverick) or do i need to shave some rubber off the now 302 mounts i have to try to make them fit? any help would be great cause i dont what to mess up my new mounts if i dont have to, thanks Stephen M.
Also if you got them at autozone that may be your problem. They sell really bad ones. But you should be able to install it using maverick 302 motor mounts along with the V8 frame mounts.
All you have to have is the V8 frame stands and 302 engine mounts. It will bolt up just like the 302 did without any problems.
I have to agree with Maverick75. Don't but motor mounts from AutoZone. I bought one and spent 4 hours trying to fight with the motor. I finally gave up and took it back out completely. I could not get the bolt through the AZ motor mount even off the engine. The ones at NAPA are best IMO. Also I used the same mounts for both the 302 and the 351.
ya i got the mounts form advance, they look the same as the ones that came with the car which did work they were just really old and the rubber was matted, i'll check out NAPA and see if their is a diff , thanks guys
