I'm getting ready to order one of those master rebuild kits (front end) from American Pony and am thinking of getting new coil springs too. Will front coils from a 70 Mustang fit a 70 Maverick?

    Thanks.

    '65 - '66 Mustang are the same as '70 - '77 Maverick.

    65mustang swaybar vs. mavericks

So, if you say that the springs from a 65-69 mustang will fit all 70-77 mavericks.... do you know if the sway bar will interchange also?

65 - 66 Mustang, sway bars are different.

I just bought the 68-70 front coil springs from CJ Pony Parts. They do fit our cars but I had to cut them down because the front of the car was too high.

the mustang front end is wider than the maverick and therefore the sway bar wont fit..

i was wondering about the coil springs myself... i want a stiffer front end,...

what coil should i get... someone said a 350 pound??

    thanks

I just bought the standard coil off of their web sight for a 6 cyl/small block application. They seem to be firm enough even after cutting them down.

Another thread had a post suggesting 71-73 Stang coils.
They are supposed to be the firm ones, and you cut them to adjust your Mav's height.

I put the sagging, worn out springs from my mustang (69 302) under my mav ( with 351c) and with me jumping up and down on the frame rails... it never moved. They are a little bit firm.

mav289, I have the Moroso drag springs. I still had to cut them down (at least one coil - can't remember if it was two or not).

I don't have a PN but I spoke directly to the people at Moroso when I ordered them.

70 Mustang spings will fit. I have them on my car.
Now I am not sure about ride height, as I do not have a engine in the bay.

The car will sit high in the front. (Ask me how I know this...):slap:

Just plan on cutting them after you have the car complete.
