Jeremy; looks like my garage...I was thinking about 2003 Taurus wheels, but the price of the spacers is a bit much. Will keep my Center Line Drag Lites for the time being.

Ya, it looks like spacers will run $300-$400, quite steep!!!! However, I already have the wheels, so unless I find some other 16's I like I will stick with these, of course there is still that stupid pony in the middle. Maybe I can have my father fabricate a center cap with a Maverick symbol in the middle.

THAT sounds like a real winner. Make them for other wheels, to fit inside the hub areas, and you will make some money. Keep us informed!!

    Center caps

Why not take the center caps you have and fill the pony in with finishing putty. maybe even paint the center caps body color.
It would definately be unique and might look pretty good if you do a good job on them.
    Just a thought.

Here's my thought: Those tires don't look like they bulge much past the rims, so the tires really aren't a big part of the equation. Do this: Measure the backspacing from the edge of the bead to the mounting surface of the hub, then subtract 4 1/4 (that's the backspacing on the 14x7 Magnum 500's, which are pretty close with 215-235's ). That's the MINIMUM spacer you're going to want. If you want them a little further out in the wheel-well, then subtract about 3.5 instead of 4.25, which is a common backspacing on wheels like Weld Draglites. Basically you're going to want your 'net backspacing', to coin a phrase, in the range of a common wheel that fits well.

Those wheels have a backspace of about ~5 7/16". That's why I used the 1" H&R up front; to get to just under 4.5" BS. That's as far in as I could push the wheels to avoid fender issues. But in the rear, the Mustng looked too narrow and I had plenty of space, so I opted for a 1.25" Spidertrax spacer. Mavs have a little more space than an early stang, so you might want 1.5" rears.

I got both sets off e-bay and paid $75 for the used H&R's and $90 for the Spidertrax.
