Distributor Grand Marquis EFI 5.0

    Does this distributor work in my 302? that other pieces can take advantage of this motor?

    The 5.0 used a steel gear...you need a cast iron gear

    Can I change the Iron gear? or is better buy a new distributor?

    Buy a rebuilt distributor. The gears are quite expensive and have to be pressed off and on to the correct position. Since its difficult to get the hole for the roll pin lined up with the hole in the shaft, a new hole is usually drilled thru the shaft. Its not much more expensive and a lot less hassle to buy a rebuilt dist.

    this dist. is used for computor control systems you will need a pcm for it to work

    ....turn the gear 180 degrees and it should line up(y)

    Bingo! It's a TFI distributor which only works if you're running EFI.
