9" rear end troubles

    u joints

    thats all you should need is a different u joint. they come in many sizes. measure the cups and widths. give them to your parts guy or uhmm gal. napa will have them. i cant remeber the part number so im no help there. but just measure cup diameter for both drive shaft and 9 inch yolk, then the width of both then you should be good to go

    have your parts person pull a u-joint for a 9" 57 ford and one for a '75 maverick 8". measure the 9" on one side and the 8" on one side. tell them you need one with thoes measurments...then adjust from there if needed...:yup:

    Everyone has hinted at it, but what needs a little clarification here is that you need to ask for a special u-joint that is made for a non-stock application. These are made for this kind of swap. A stock u-joint usually is the same size in both dimensions. What you need has both sizes built into it.
