Comet to Mav conversion??

I wonder if you could swap out the lens in Comet tail lghts? I'd like to have all red instead of the backup lights in the center, would hook up all 4 as tail-brake-signal, would give more light and be more visible especialy if you used the clear led 1157s in them all.

 

I took a left and a right cut them down the center and glued them back together (using only the red) with pvc pipe glue.

 

Great picture there Ken. I am also eliminating the backup lights but I dont like the plastic crosshairs, so I cut a single lens out of red plastic. I'm looking for some LED lights to put behind them.

 

Email the guy that sells the maverick white face gauges on ebay.
He sells LED light also... not a bad price for the lights
Im sure he can get LED replacement lights for the rear also.

That looks good Ken, just what I was thinking about. Dennis, where did you get the red plastic at ? I might want to go that route.

 

I had to order it from somwhere and have it shipped in. I dont remember exactly. But it took me awhile to find it. I think I did a search online. I remember posting on the board looking for help.
