Welcome to the forum. From west Virginia. If you look on this site you can find one in your area. Or down the coast. I've seen three so far. If you need help finding parts you have a excellent parts supplier in cal. Parts bin ,com. Have fun while you look. Jimmy

www.partsbin.com is some kind of old web crawler.. I have found nothing useful with it.

Covina, about 30 miles west of Los Angeles. (edit.... make that EAST of Los Angeles)

Thanks for the heads up, we saw that one but time is one thing we really don't have anymore. Between the jobs and kids..... I'm sure alot of you understand what I'm saying. Anyway we budgeted $5K+ to get a nice driver that I shouldn't have to work on for a little while. Doing engine swaps and repairs while I enjoyed them pre-family aren't going to happen today.

So you want a car that's safe, yet has room for improvements in the future.
$5k budget. I will look around for you. 2 door or 4? Or are you open to both?

75 or earlier, 2 door, V8, A/C (this is So.Cal) but willing to have it added for the right car, auto is fine.... in a perfect world a manual floor shift.

http://bakersfield.craigslist.org/cto/2952585498.html v6 comes with v8 $2300 I wont post the 3k autos I finding. Only reason sharing this one is it has the louver hood and spoiler already and has a engine to swap.

    http://bakersfield.craigslist.org/cto/2935396748.html 302 v8 $2800

http://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/2979848778.html $2500 OBO no clue if its 6 or 8 but looks decent.

http://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/2979148845.html NO pics but sounds interesting.

Depressing how many are for sale in california. Sorry if these aren't the closest. I got to go ... suggest you use the craigslist california state and do search's for comet/mavericks. There are 3 on ebay. But craigslist seems to always have more than any other site combined.

Welcome! If you're patient and willing to put the work into it, factory AC can be added to a non-AC car: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=70356

Yeah and with $5 k can pay to have one that is close done to specs. Finding nice cars close to what you posted as requirements for under $3k.
So even if you don't have the time to do it yourself, can get one fixed up and still be well under $5 k.

Thank you, I'm in contact with him now. No heater, no headliner, front seats need to be redone but easily taken care of for the right price. Of course black is the very last color choice for my wife...
For the right car distance isn't an issue. If it's within 600 miles we can fly out and drive it back, further I'll get it trucked in. If it is too far out of our area I'll pay a local forum member to check out the car in person for me.

These are the only ones that are close to your want list.

I have found over 1301 on craigslist today .... must be a spring cleaning thing.:bouncy:

Even found a 1974 Cosworth Vega.. lol

Now if you want to to expand the search into canda and south america... I can...but import laws/taxes would make it a biatch IMHO.
