If you are planning to limit your mods to minor ones I would not go over 2 1/4 inches on your exhaust system...more like 2 inch would be more than adequate. Go with a dual collector header so you can run twin pipes out with dual mufflers. This is my setup with 2 inch pipes all the way back.

Nice set up....you have the pipes (dual) coming out on one side?...any pics showing the pipes coming out from the back?

My pipes are split all the way out the back. A good muffler shop will be able to do this with no problem.

Very nice. I have a number of good exhaust buds (shops) and should have no problem getting the look I want. Again, nice job. Basically here is what I am after. This past summer when I drive the Mav. or go to any shows as many of you have experienced., I get tons of lookers and comments...."Nice Ride"...."Cool Car"...."Wow, is that a Maverick"......"What is that".....and the most common one...."I had one of those"....anyway, this year I want to pull in, have the "sound" and then pop the hood to show a nicely done, clean orginal "6 Banger"....I also ride a Triumph and have a T-shirt that reads "Anyone can ride a Harley" (I do like and owned Harleys) but anyway going to get a T shirt that says....."Anyone can do a V8 Swap"...no offense to you 302 guys.....LOL

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Just go ahead and put 6 barrels on it :D

I always wanted to do that on the 200, but it's looking more likely it'll just get a V8 swap. You could get the carbs for free actually, they came on a lot of imports and guys just swap em out for EFI.

But there's going to be a TON of machine work involved. And the price will probably outshine the aluminum head from classic inline.

I would recommend sticking with the single barrel but make sure you get the intake and exhaust dividers installed, otherwise go all out and soop it up. A two barrel wount change much unless you do the head work as well. Check these guys out and give them a call, they can give you exactly the answers you need. http://www.cliffordperformance.net/
