ok fellas...i am finally getting around to restoring my grandfather's 72 starting with the front and rear suspension. I have seen several mustang "suspension kits" on-line that state they will fit 70-73 mavs. Most of these are listed as 65-73 Mustang kits. Has anyone had any luck with these kits? Are the 65-73 Mustang parts a match? i am in the Houston area so if anyone knows of a local outfit (ie. john's mustang - although they are not helpful at all) that they have used please let me know. thanks
www.cal-mustang.com has parts listed with prices and the kit you want is listed for 68-73. The 64-66 are different and will not fit. All the parts for 70-73 will fit the Mavericks from the idler arm and tie rod ends to the control arms and strut rod bushings.
I got a kit from Mustangs Unlimited for a '68-'73 Mustang. Bolted right on and works great. Just don't use polyurethane strut rod bushings.
for my front suspension I used was from laurel mountain mustang. http://www.laurelmountainmustangparts.com/store/6873-master-front-suspension-p-232.html worked great
Kits for a 68-73 mustang do not have the tie rods, idler arm and pitman arm. Is there a kit out there that includes all the parts or will the mustang parts fit.
http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy01.asp?T1=FEKS8+01&Category=Suspension+%26+Steering&subCategory=Front+Rebuild+Kits&CatKey=EMUSTANG here's one of the 'big' kits but it doesnt list idler and pitman arms. most suspension kits dont come with them but idler arms can usually be bought from ur local parts house. pitman arms however arent available new to my knowledge....
