is it even possible to find parts to upgrade your maverick these days ie:louvers ground effects:16suspect
And that is CLEARLY a comet, and somebody has a really hot grandmother who hopefully still wears black and white mini-skirts...
The louvers are very hard to find. I have one of the few sets out of all the people on this message board. I only know of a couple more sets out of 8000 plus members.
This post is very much like the song that never ends, it just goes on and on again. This time was different for me, though. Here are three things I never saw or realized before. 1. In the second photo, as you look through the driver quarter window there is something shiny, chrome-like in the middle of the package shelf. What is it? It is not a Shelby Cobra Snake is it? 2. First time I realized that it has the small turn signals under the bumper, Maverick-like, but very UN-Comet like. 3. The front bumper is a Maverick's not a Comet's. That I read in the article and had yet to read before, let alone even notice. Real or not, I still like the car, just wish it wasn't British Racing Green, like some of the OTHER Shelby products were, like the AC Cobras. rk
i've read all the thread and i noticed that most everyone is confused about if it's a mav or a comet in the photos, so just to clear it out: it's a mexican maverick, between 73-75 ford sold comets with maverick add ons, but still named them mavericks, so in mexico it's not uncommon to see comets with maverick badges, and if you ask the owners about them they will tell you they are american mavericks, not comets. and ford offered those hood tachs scoops, and duck tails, as an option to all mavericks, although not many bought them, you may find several mavs in mexico that could qualify as "shelby mavericks" just because they have all those options factory installed. i have a full article of a so called shelby mav that someone posted a photo earlier, i will scan it a post it shortly.
That would be great! The more info the better! It is my understanding that all the Shelby parts were available as dealer add-ons, so those parts wouldn't have been "factory" installed, but rather dealer installed. They were also sold over-the-counter so people could install whichever of the Shelby parts they chose, so as mentioned here, there could be Mavericks in Mexico that had some or all of the Shelby equipment, but not be a full-fledged Shelby de Mexico Maverick. Only a dealer invoice would allow someone to know for sure.
when i took a trip down to jalisco i remember seing a mav with one of the shelby spoilers but i couldnt take out my camera fast enough to take a a picture
The guy standing next to the chicks in the skirts by the Shelby Maverick is my Uncle Cousin Brother Hector Kalabraialacktanzza-mofo the 3rd.He died in 1975 ,he got trampled by a Mexican Donkey that was in heat. R.I.P. Hector. He never drove the Maverick he only washed the mag wheels and feather dusted the body of the car. He did manage to bed all the mini skirt girls though. Good old Hector what a guy. NMCC
