With the Grabber. Got the Rod&Custom crossmember and installed it. Only took 1 Day! It was alot easier than I thought it was going to be. Really happy with the results and all the extra ROOOOM! Here's some before and afters.

Is this how it came to you when you bought it, or did you have to do your own welding to get it to this point?
    Good work, btw!

What kind of oil pan do you have to use?
Will a Fox oil pan work?
Also, what are the 4 tabs sticking out, 2 forward and 2 rearward?

You have to use a double sump 5.0 oil pan to clear the rack in front. The tabs are for the tubular lower control arms. Bye bye strut rods!

I have been collecting parts to do this very same swap to my 69.5 keeping my Cleveland. I bought a double sump 351c Canton Fox pan and a set of Mustang conventional headers. This set up looks sweet but is a little bigger than what I was going to use. Would you mind giving me the dimensions of the crossmember and the length of the tubes that the lower a-frames mount to? The crossmember looks like 1 1/2 x 3. I can mock it up and see if it will fit before I buy.

    Thanks much, Bob

    The headers thing worries me...
When it comes to bigger engines, the towers are not the only worry.
The front frame rails are much closer together on our cars than Mustangs, so while there will be no problem with the towers, the tubes still need to get between the engine block and frame rails.

So, I wonder which road would be best to follow on a 351 or 460 car...
Swap headers for Pinto/M2? (smaller tubes from what I have found)
Swap headers for Fox? (they have wide frame rails though...)
Headers for early Stang? (again, wide space between rails)

The primary size of the headers surely has much to do with frame width.

I had the Cleveland in my car using the stock front sump pan and Tubular Automotive swap headers for the 4v heads. It wasn't easy but they did fit between the rails. In fact, thinking back now, the width of the rails might have been the least of my problems. Using the Stang headers, I'm not quite sure yet. Looking at the R & C set up, I might be concerned about the width of the lower a-frames and the Cleveland headers clearing them or not.
