they're tagged as a 'WC' but dont hold up behind V8's unless they're re-geared to V8 spec & have the bigger V8 bearings installed

you could prolly use it behind a stock 302 but it's got a low first gear...

So you are saying that the shaft of the fox body clutch pedal will fit into the maverick pedal assembly and you can still attach the quadrant etc? And then just mod the lower part of the padal arm?

If you do some searching, somewhere on this board it was laid out in detail what has to be done to use Fox Body pedals. It's been a few years since I've read it, but I believe the it was posted by blown76mav.

    Hey Jamie,
Yea, I know how to weld in the jackshaft to hybrid the two pedal sets, I was a part of that a post a long while back, unless you are talking about some post that I don't know of.
But if you read POWER ADDER's post, he talks as if you can just put the foxbody clutch jackshaft into the pedals without any effort. He says "IT TOOK LESS TIME TO DO THE PEDaLS THAN TO RESpOND TO THIS "
Unless that is an unreasonably gross exaggeration, I assume he is talking about sliding the foxbody clutch jackshaft through the maverick brake pedal without welding in the tube from the fox set.

Never intended to weld two shafts together here, but thanks. I have however done that on some farm machinery, with success, LOL.

I appreciate the simplicity of putting in the foxbody jack shaft tubing. I was trying to get his take on the above mentioned quote, and the manner in which he just slapped them together. I am guessing that he may have grossly exaggerated the process.

Don't stop helping the appreciative many because of an aggrevating few....

at least link your tech thread on the swap.....decent T-5's are alot easier to come by and more affordable than rode-hard-and-put-up-broke Toploaders and T-10s

Blown 76 Mav, Wow, sorry that I have ruined your participation for everyone, I did not mean to do that and I have no problem with you. On the contrary, I was trying to defend you. I did not mean to offend you. When you originally posted all of the instructions, I held on to every word. You have braved this frontier for all of us. And I have seen it's success in an actual maverick. I cherish the blessings that you had shared with us on this process. I have no problem with your methods. I merely thought that your process was being belittled by someone who says that it is nothing or simple or easier than responding to a post. I know that getting out my welder is not easier than responding to a post. You have braved this frontier for all of us. AND WE ALL DO APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU'VE DONE. SERIOUSLY! I am sorry that I offended you. Really, I was trying to "have your back" on this one. I may not express myself perfectly, as I am not perfect. And I understand your position, as I have came to the conclusion that I should just read on here and not post. It is much easier to talk in person. And I offend a very few that I meet in person. I hope one day to meet you face to face and we can laugh at all of this. Otherwise I, like you, am through with postings for another year or so, because I just pi** people off without trying. And I'd honestly rather spend my time in the shop.

    Steve

back on track, I wanted to mention a few things about the 4 cyl t5.

It does have a VERY steep first gear....3.95 to 1 compared to the normal 3.35 to 1.

aside from that, the ONLY thing different in mounting it is the input shaft diameter being smaller, as mentioned.

If you use a mid 80's ford ranger diesel pilot bearing, that is the exact bearing you will need to use this 4 cyl t5 in your 302.

My friend unknowingly ran a 4 cyl t5 behind his 325 horse ford roller crate motor for 5 years before he broke it.

It'll stand up longer than you'd think...especially behind the measely little 142 HP 302 that came in our mavericks from the factory.
